Ani Luna Zafieri

Ani Luna Zafieri is a classically trained pianist (Ma, BMus), performer and teacher at Music4Children.

She studied in Venice where she gained a First Class Honours Masters’ Degree in piano performance and also holds a Bachelor’s degree from the Conservatoria di Musica in Trieste. Ani received a scholarship for both degrees where she studied with the renowned professor Assunta Pescetti and golden-generation pianist Giorgio Rittmeyer

Ani first came to Ireland during the final semester of her Master’s degree as an Erasmus student. She enjoyed it so much that she returned a year later and is still here today. Ani is currently studying for a Diploma in teaching at the London College of Music and is also an active accompanist for RIAM, LCM and ABRSM practical exams. Ani is also employed as organist for various services.

Multi-lingual and multi-instrumentalist Ani has participated in many prestigious international events. Most memorable was the 2010 “Roads of Peace” concert where she was amongst 40 soloists performing for over one thousand people and three heads of state. She also performed at the concert for Pope Benedict XVI, at the Vatican, 2006.

Ani is a highly sought after teacher with over 70 pupils. A number of those students were awarded first and second prizes at “Feis Maitiú” and “Feile an tSamhraidh”. In keeping with Music4Children school ethos, Ani likes to take a different personal approach to each of her students. She encourages them to try their best, but is always understanding of their differing capabilities and levels. One of her goals in this role is to make classical music more accessible, especially to young pupils and to teach them how to appreciate and value great compositions in their everyday life. She is a firm believer that music improves our quality of life and therefore is for everyone, no matter the age or the level.
