Claire is a graduate of both the Arts programme and the Music programme at University College Cork. At UCC she studied various performance classes including Javanese gamelan, Irish harp, song-writing and composition. Among the highlights of her academic career so far include; being awarded the DOC Gleeson award for outstanding vocal performance in her second year, and in her third year being honoured with the title of Scholar of Music, as granted by the department of Arts, Celtic and Social studies.
Her formal musical education began at 8 when she started classical piano. After completing her eight grades she went on to receive a Royal Irish Academy high achiever award for her exceptional results in her Senior Certificate exam.
Claire has been working as an accompanist and a solo performer for many years now. She has also years of experience performing with ensembles and choirs including the UCC choir and the Cork Gamelan ensemble.
