Gillian Fenton-Leogue

Gillian holds a First Class Honours B.Mus and MBS from UCC. Gillian also holds a First Class Honours PGDE from Mary Immaculate College, Limerick where she trained to be a primary school teacher. Gillian also has 18 years piano training and 22 years dance training.

Gillian began her dance training with Sinead Murphy of Cork School of Dance at the age of 3 and has performed on the Cork Opera House stage as a dancer and in acting roles with the late Director Bryan Flynn on a number of occasions. Gillian was a member of the Cork Children’s Chorus and performed the lead in The Red Sun at Cork City Hall in 2005. She also performed Hansel and Gretel with the Cork Children’s Chorus in the Cork Opera House. Gillian was an active member of the UCC Honan Chapel Chamber Choir during her time in University College Cork, with conductor Ronan Holohan. She was also part of the renowned UCC Javanese Gamelan Ensemble with Mel Mercier. Most recently Gillian has performed in the Everyman Palace as a chorus member in Cork Operatic Society’s productions of Der Vampyr and Faust. Gillian currently sings as a soprano with John O’Brien’s female voice choir Voice Effect, with whom she has performed in Cork Opera House. She has also recently been enjoying collaborating with composer/musician Fiachra O’Corragain.

Gillian has a huge passion for education. Gillian is currently a second class primary school teacher in Cork and absolutely loves teaching children. Gillian has been working with Music4Children for three years and enjoys sharing her love of music, performance and education with her piano and keyboard students.
