Maeve O’Shea

Maeve is an accomplished music psychotherapist with extensive experience working as a skilled piano teacher. Graduating from the Cork School of Music with a BMus in 2003, Maeve returned to academic studies in 2006 to follow her passion for combining music with therapy and completed the approved Masters degree in Music Therapy from the University of Limerick. Holding professional membership of the Irish Association of Creative Arts Therapists (IACAT) Maeve practices with both adults and children with emotional, behavioural issues and those who have suffered trauma, physical and intellectual disabilities, and in the fields of autism and mental health. Specialising in attachment-based therapy.

Maeve has developed a highly successful parent/carer-child music programme that encourages greater attunement and supports positive development.
Providing private piano tuition at many levels for more than a decade Maeve is delighted to be working with Music4Children.
